Hydrophobic Effect Maintenance

The hydrophobic effect is a basic principle in chemistry that preserves the construction and use of various biological systems. It plays an integral part in the stability of proteins, the formation of cell membranes, and the business of running a cell, to name just a few necessities of life. Unlike magnets, which are attracted to certain poles and repelled by others, water molecules can’t get enough of just about anything nonpolar and run far, far away if they can. Context is obviously key when talking about anything in science—especially in chemistry, which has a language that takes precision and a lot of good definitions.
